Fishing Report, 8/10/10

Salmon fishing is going strong with 1 to 2 fish per angler. There is a mix of darker fish that have been in the system for awhile with fresh fish still showing up. Summer steelhead have been popping up and responding aggressively. The fish and game fish counting weir in Junction City has been in for about a week. On some days they have been seeing more sea run brown trout than chinooks. Boat traffic is almost non existant and the mornings are getting cooler making for some really enjoyable days on the river. Cured roe and kwickfish are still the ticket. If interested in learning how to float fish for salmon now is a great time with the boat traffic being low. Reports from the lower Klamath have been great with lots of wild steelhead being caught. This season has been great so far and this fall is shaping up to be a good one so give me a call if you would like to come up and fish this wonderful river.
